I've come to Australia in 2003 and my life has changed completely, and so has my diet. For those of you growing up here, you have had access to food and treats in a way I have not. Chocolate was a treat for us and we only had it a few times a year, on special occasions. Biscuits and cookies the same.
A rare trip to a cake shop was the top treat a kid could get, when mother would buy us cake or some cookies.
As an adult I still remember those flavours and cookies, and one of them was the one called "Fursec" which is probably comming from "petit fours". That cookie and the momory I am about to resurect today.

The dough is actually a batter, which you pour with a spoon and then you sprinkle with raisins or nuts or choc chips.
I chose the raisins, which I have soaked in a bit of Marsala liqueur, to juice them up and also prevent them from burning during cooking. Don't tell anyone, but I also had a shot of Marsala too, just to make sure it was ok still.

They turned out ok, similar to my memories, however I was the only one to like the raisins version, my family only liked the choc chip ones.
I will call them domino cookies, they look like dominos, don't you think? Well, round dominos halves.
Here's the recipe:
Domino cookies
4 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil
1 cup caster sugar
1 & 3/4 cup plain flour
Raisins, soaked into warm water and then drained (or liqueur, if you like)
Walnut halves
Choc chips
Vanilla essence (1 teaspoon, depends which brand you use)
Lemon rind from 1 lemon
In a bowl, with a mixer beat the eggs with the sugar untill nice and fluffy, add sugar is disolved.
Add oil in a drizzle, then add the flour slowly.
Add essence and lemon rind.
Pour tablespoons of dough on a tray lined with baking paper. Leave plenty room in between as they spread a lot. Sprinkle with desired topping, then bake in a moderate oven for 10 minutes or until lightly browned on the edges. Cool slightly in tray before removing them to cool on a rack.
Enjoy!
